The AIOC Impact
To date, AIOC has supported eight deals, providing over $745 million in loan guarantees and directly benefiting 43 First Nations and Métis Groups in Alberta. We are starting to see the results of Indigenous partnerships. These transactions are yielding meaningful returns. First Nations and Métis groups have utilized revenues to purchase land, improve facilities, and reinvest in other economic development projects.

Whitefish (Goodfish)
This year, after more than 30 years without a recreation facility, Whitefish (Goodfish) Lake First Nation opened the doors to a brand-new multiplex.
With support from AIOC’s loan guarantee program, the Nation invested in infrastructure projects that generated stable revenue, making it possible to secure financing for the new facility and gathering place.
