In December 2023, the AIOC provided a $150 million loan guarantee to support the 12 Indigenous Communities of  Wapiscanis Waseskwan Nipiy Limited Partnership in financing an equity investment in oil and gas midstream infrastructure in the Clearwater play in Northern Alberta.
