In the latest episode of Voices of Our People, Thalia Aspeslet, Manager Indigenous Relations at AIOC shares the significance of cultural connection and ceremony throughout her career journey. In addition to her reflections on her role at AIOC, she discusses how building trust is as an asset to advance Indigenous equity ownership. 

“I’ve spent over twenty years connecting to different aspect of my culture, learning about who I am and where I come from. It was what really grounded me, got me through my education, career journey and helped me raise my son”  

As the episode progresses, she highlights how Indigenous relations at AIOC is a continuous and integrated process.  

“We are being mindful when we engage, ensuring we are not engaging for the sake of engagement, but to provide meaningful contribution and respect for their time.”
